5 Travel Secrets : Best Price Airfare

Travel Deals

The airlines are notorious for adjusting the price of airline tickets. Their goal is to maximize revenue and profit by confusing the average consumer. Lets say you wanted to go to the Birth Place of Picasso and find Hotels in Barcelona , you may follow the common misnomers about buying tickets at night because they are cheaper. I have compiled a list of the top 5 common beliefs about air travel and separate fact from fiction.

1. Buying tickets at night will reduce cost - False, time of day does not effect ticket price. Ticket prices vary throughout the day based on buying patterns and availability of seats. It is a complete crap shoot and there is no correlation between time of day and price. The solution is to sign up for price alerts, most travel agencies do this anyway.

2. Buying tickets 8 months in advance will be the cheapest way to go - False, the best time to buy tickets is 3 months before you flight. There is no point in planning to early for your flight as the prices will be higher than if you wait 3 to 4 months before.

3. First class and business class are always more expensive - False, because so many people believe this they do not even check. The truth its simple supply and demand. If there are seats available the airline will sell them, but because most people don’t check the demand isn’t there and sometimes the prices drop below coach.

4. Last minute flights can be a great deal - This one is true! If you can be flexible and wait till the last minute you can get a great discount. So wait till a few days before, if its a popular destination theres a good chance that a cheap seat will be available. Also, if you fly on days that are not peak you will get a great discount… the days which are best are Monday Tuesday and Saturday.

5. Discount Airlines are always cheaper - False, legacy airlines realized that they need to be competitive so many times their flights are very competitive and sometimes even cheaper than JetBlue or a similar airlines.

I hope this helps you find the best deals. Next time you want to find a Hotel in Spain make sure to follow these tips and get the best flights possible. Happy Traveling.
